Metro and the construction industry are looking for women who want to join their ranks, learn a construction career and help Metro build the transportation infrastructure for the future.

Do you want to be part of the team? Join Metro’s first-ever female focused construction networking event on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Los Angeles Trade Technical College, 400 W. Washington Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90015.

There will be recruiters from trade unions, managerial ranks at construction firms, construction-related businesses, pre-apprenticeship training programs and prime contractors. There will also be three different panels. Panel 1 is about discovering and preparing for an apprenticeship. Panel 2 is about the journey level experience and meeting the challenge. Panel 3 is about expanding pathways in the construction industry and stepping to the top.

Training coordinators will also be on hand to accept applications and to speak directly to women who attend the event. All are welcome to attend and participate. Remember you need to register for this great opportunity by visiting metrodeod.wufoo.com/forms/women-build-metro-los-angeles-2015.

We encourage the public to use public transit since parking will be limited. Metro Blue Line Grand Station is just outside L.A. Trade Tech. Plan your trip at metro.net
