Pasadena Police Respond to Burglary in Progress, Apprehend Five Suspects

On Oct. 29, 2015, at 1:52 p.m., a resident in the 500 Block of Pepper Street saw two males knocking on the door of her neighbor’s unoccupied home across the street. The two suspects entered a waiting car that then drove around the neighborhood. Believing the behavior suspicious, the witness called the Pasadena Dispatch Center.

The Glendale police helicopter (an air operations partner with Pasadena PD) arrived on scene and witnessed males attempting to gain entry into the same property and a suspect vehicle parked at the rear of the property. When patrol officers arrived on scene, the suspect vehicle quickly drove away from the home, crashing half a block away. Two suspects ran from the car. Pasadena officers established a perimeter and searched yard-to-yard with the police canine. One suspect was located hiding inside a house east of the burglarized residence and two other suspects were located hiding inside a garage several properties west of the residence. With the assistance of the canine unit, the two suspects were apprehended inside the garage.
