Want to learn how to pack a mule? This is your opportunity. On Sunday, Nov. 8th, 2015, the Sierra Madre Historical Preservation Society will present a tour of Adams’ Pack Station at Chantry Flat. The pack station is thought to be the last one of its kind in the United States.

Drive up Santa Anita Avenue and then wind your way about three miles up into the mountains to arrive at Chantry Flat. On the tour, you will learn the history of the pack station, hear about packing to the mountain cabins and resort camp, and see the behind-the-scenes work it takes to run this unique operation.

Kids love this tour, which we have brought back by popular demand, so be sure to bring them along.

Sunday, November 8th 2 to 5 p.m. Parking $10 in the upper dirt lot (space is limited, so carpooling is recommended). Food and drink available for purchase. Reservations strongly recommended: contact Leslie Ziff at (626) 321-7735 or lbziff@roadrunner.com.
