The Annenberg Space for Photography has just announced a series of programs, lectures, workshops and film screenings in conjunction with their latest exhibition, LIFE: A Journey Through Time. LIFE, on view between Oct. 24, 2015 and March 20, 2016, is a photographic interpretation of life on planet Earth from the Big Bang to the present, chronicled in 70+ photos produced by TED Talk speaker and National Geographic photographer, Frans Lanting.

Lanting, who was born in the Netherlands, earned his Master’s in economics before moving to the United States to study environmental planning. He soon began photographing nature, and quickly became an authority in wild life and natural world photography. The highly-anticipated exhibition is based on Lanting’s multi-year project entitled LIFE, where he explores the complexities and grandeur of the natural world, from its earliest beginnings to its present day dynamics.

Taking place at the Annenberg Space for Photography’s Skylight Studios, an assortment of LIFE-related programming will kick-off with a free, family friendly weekend event on Oct. 24 and Oct. 25 where attendees can enjoy a meet-and-greet with exotic animal rescuees. Programming will continue throughout the month and into the new year with photography workshops including Introduction to Macro Photography, film screenings including  SKYGLOW: Timelapse Photography as well as the Annenberg Space for Photography’s signature programming, the Iris Nights lecture— a series on the natural world and the the solar system where guests and live stream viewers can hear world-renowned photographers discuss pointing their lenses at subjects on land, under the sea, and in the sky.
