Team Up for the Community Feud

Literacy

The Monrovia Public Library Foundation is looking for community members to “Team Up! Dream Up! For Literacy.”  In support of their Literacy Services program, the foundation is presenting an event that sounds like a whole lot of friendly, competitive fun.

Do you like to play games? It is time to gather your friends and family and head to the Monrovia Public Library at 321 S. Myrtle on Sunday, Nov. 8.  The Community Feud runs from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and tickets are available at the circulation desk for $40 each.

Similar to the game Family Feud, teams will compete against each other and try to figure out what responses their fellow Monrovians gave to survey questions. There will be a series of rounds to determine the winning team. Each team’s strategy will depend on how competitive the team wants to be. They can win their way into the upper rounds, or they can buy their way out of the early rounds before starting to compete against other teams.

The money raised from this event will benefit the Monrovia Public Library literacy program in several ways. From funding literacy tutor training to purchasing much-needed furnishings, materials and tools, such as software apps and technology, this annual fundraiser is dedicated to support the jewel of Monrovia –our public library.

Tickets to the event, or sponsorship, may be purchased through the foundation website at www.monrovialibraryfoundation.org, or at the library’s circulation desk. For more information, check out the website and find out how you can form a competitive team.
