On December 4, 2011, at about 9:30 a.m., an elderly female was placing her groceries in her car when Suspect Eric Alford allegedly snatched her keys, pushed her to the ground, and stole her car. The crime occurred in Woodland Hills. Approximately two hours later in Pasadena, Alford allegedly chased a female victim and subsequently robbed her. During the investigation, Alford was identified as the robbery suspect. On November 2, 2012, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and several felony charges were filed, including robbery and carjacking.
