Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report
For the period of Sunday, October 11th, through Saturday, October 17th, the Police Department responded to 1,064 calls for service of which 119 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.

October 11

Just before 12:13 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of North Santa Anita Avenue regarding a domestic dispute. An investigation revealed an argument between a husband and wife escalated when the husband kicked and punched his wife. The couple’s juvenile son attempted to break up the fight. The 33-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The female victim refused medical attention.

At approximately 2:31 p.m., an officer responded to the 1300 block of South Golden West Avenue regarding a vandalism report. The officer determined an unknown suspect scratched the victim’s car doors with an unknown object. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

October 12

At about 8:06 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Lower Azusa Road and Roseglen Avenue for speeding. Upon contacting the driver, the officer discovered the 42-year-old male from El Monte was driving with a suspended license and had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. His vehicle was stored.

At approximately 7:58 p.m., an officer responded to Kirin Buffet, located at the Westfield Shopping Town, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft of a debit card. Surveillance footage revealed that as the clerk was ringing up another customer, a team of three suspects distracted the clerk and stole the other customer’s debit card. The suspects then spent more than $1,000 at various stores in the mall. The investigation is ongoing.
Suspect 1 is described as a black male, 25 to 35 years old, wearing a black shirt and jeans. Suspect 2 is described as a black male wearing a red shirt and jeans.
Suspect 3 is described as a black female pushing a stroller.

October 13

Around 12:50 a.m., an officer responded to the Entrance Bar and Lounge, 80 West Live Oak Avenue, regarding a fight. An investigation revealed an altercation ensued between three males resulting in the suspect hitting the victim over the head with a glass cup. The 43-year-old male from West Covina was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. Arcadia Fire provided medical treatment to the victim.

Just after 8:31 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Huntington Drive and Baldwin Avenue regarding a welfare check. The officer located a subject slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle that was stopped in traffic. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 22-year-old male from Arcadia was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

October 14

Shortly after 6:35 a.m., an officer conducted a consensual search of the hotel registry at Motel 6, 225 West Colorado Place. Upon contacting one of the occupants, the officer discovered the 38-year-old male from Bakersfield had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The suspect’s girlfriend, a 53-year-old female from Hacienda Heights, also had two outstanding felony warrants. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At about 10:31 p.m., officers responded to the 76 Station, 102 East Huntington Drive, regarding a robbery that had just occurred. An investigation revealed two suspects entered the store, displayed a silver handgun, and demanded cash. The suspects fled eastbound on foot with approximately $525.00 and three pairs of sunglasses. The investigation is ongoing.

October 15

At approximately 4:31 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Shrode Street regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim stated an unknown suspect entered his vehicle by unknown means and stole various tools. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Around 8:06 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of Singing Wood Drive regarding a fraud report. The officer determined an unknown suspect stole $140 and the victim’s credit card from her wallet and made fraudulent purchases with the card. The investigation is ongoing.

October 16

At about 3:03 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Magna Vista Avenue for having tinted windows. Upon contacting the driver, the officer discovered the 39-year-old male from Monrovia had never been issued a license. He was cited and released in the field. His vehicle was left legally parked.

Just after 5:58 p.m., an officer responded to JC Penney at the Westfield Shopping Town, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a suspect in custody for petty theft. Surveillance footage revealed the 18-year-old female from Pasadena concealed numerous items in her purse before exiting the store, failing to make payment. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

October 17

Just after 1:23 a.m., an officer responded to the Westfield Shopping Town, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime during the previous night, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1995 Honda Accord from the parking lot adjacent to Just Tires. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

At approximately 2:03 p.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Colorado Street and Vaquero Road for having paper plates on the vehicle without a temporary registration sticker. Upon contacting the driver, the officer discovered he had never been issued a license, had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, and was in possession of a billy club and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
