Norwegian DJ Kygo lit up the Greek Theatre this past Saturday with an interactive live performance for the books. The tropical house pioneer kept the hits coming with significant momentum throughout the entire show, captivating the crowd aural and visual experience.
Each track was coupled with syncretic light show projected across the venue’s sizable screens. Glittery bursts of animated color, shapes, and figures played against illuminated wristbands worn by members of the audience, making for an especially magical night at the iconic outdoor theater.
But that certainly wasn’t it. Early in the set, John Legend joined the DJ to perform their collab, “Sexual Healing” setting the tone for a string of surprises throughout the show. Balls of fire, confetti, streamers, and fireworks made cameos during the evening, with the unexpected piano solo by Kygo accompanied by a chamber orchestra for the final song “Firestone”.
The illuminated effects coupled with Kygo’s compelling tracks left the crowd dazed and craving more.
