City to Release First Round of Education Campaign on Arcadia Real Estate Rules
By Joe Taglieri
A forthcoming issue of the city of Arcadia’s newsletter marks the first installment of a campaign to provide the public with information on the local zoning code and real estate development regulations.
The city-sponsored publication covers the basics of Arcadia residential development policy and addresses frequently asked questions officials have received on the issue.
The information effort coincides with the restarting of a zoning code update study and historical preservation survey that were put on hold due to what a majority of council members claimed were concerns over a lawsuit filed by Highlands neighborhood residents against the city. The lawsuit, which sought to stall council-approved residential construction projects, was settled earlier this month clearing a path to reopen the zoning update and historical survey.
Officials said the public education campaign will also include public meetings in November as well as an advisory committee comprised of Arcadia residents representing the spectrum of positions on real estate development.
