A nearly intact fossil of a four-million-year-old mysticete whale (an ancestor of the baleen whale) was unearthed at a construction site in Santa Cruz County in early September 2015.
The remains of the ancient whale are currently being transported to the Monrovia company Paleo Solutions.
Paleo Solutions was established in 2004 and provides paleontological and archaeological services throughout California and other western states.
