Listen Up: The Weeknd’s ‘Beauty Behind The Madness’ Release

Millions rejoice as The Weeknd‘s highly anticipated new album Beauty Behind the Madness is finally here, and just in time for, well, the weekend. We’ve eagerly been counting down the months, days, and hours until the release of their second studio album, and now have one more HUGE reason to be celebrating their Friday.

Abel Tesfaye, the 25-year-old Canadian )AKA The Weeknd) has created a unique brand of dark R&B which explores the taboo emotions and experiences of human existence dabbling in drugs, sex and sincerity. Beauty Behind the Madness has critic claiming that for this album The Weeknd is adopting a more refined accessible pop undercurrent to complement the more raw elements of his tracks such as his explicit lyrics and vocals.

Even before its official release Beauty Behind the Madness has spawned numerous hits including  “Can’t Feel My Face”  (his 1st number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100),”Often“, “Earned It” (from the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack), and “The Hills“. Kanye West co-wrote and produced the track “Tell All Your Friends” (whose music video dropped this week), and fans can also look forward to duets with Lana Del Rey and Ed Sheeran.

Can’t get enough? The Weeknd recently announced that he will be setting off on “The Madness” Tour this November to support the new album. The Weeknd’s selection of tour mates Travi$ Scott (rapper who is also working with Kanye West), Banks (our Zodiac Issue cover girl goddess) and Halsey (up and coming indie pop singer, who’s album Badlands also dropped today), solidify that he not only has great taste in composition, by also companions.”The Madness” Tour will touch down at The Forum in Los Angeles on December 8th.
