Mt. Sierra College Announces Children’s Hospital LA Blood Drive Aug. 6

Every first Thursday of the month, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Mt. Sierra College hosts a variety of food trucks for the public to enjoy along with an opportunity to participate in monthly community service initiatives. Each month, Mt. Sierra College spotlights a charity or organization that needs community support by collecting monetary donations, specific items, or volunteers. There are vendors, gourmet food trucks, giveaways, and music for all ages to enjoy.

The community service spotlight for the month of August is Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. CHLA is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit hospital for pediatric care, and has been named the best children’s hospital in California. It is amongst the top ten in the nation for clinical excellence, with its selection to the prestigious U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll. Each year, CHLA provides more than 107,000 children with pediatric health care in a setting designed just for their needs.

In an effort to assist CHLA collect more blood donations, during the slow summer months, Mt Sierra College will host a Children’s Hospital LA blood drive Thursday, Aug. 6th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Situated in the auditorium on campus, you will have an opportunity to help save a child in need by donating your blood.
