Arcadia’s Weekly Fire Department Report

July 5

At 3:01 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a Police Department assist in the 12300 block of East Lower Azusa Road. A male in his mid-twenties had barricaded himself on top of a storage unit. Fire crews remained on scene while Police Officers attempted to convince the man to surrender, eventually subduing him. Paramedics assessed the patient, who declined treatment. The patient was released to Arcadia Police Department.

 

July 6

At 1:21 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a female patient who was suffering from difficulty breathing. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and blood glucose monitoring. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

 

July 7

At 1:29 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 700 block of West Camino Real. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a female patient who was suffering from severe abdominal pain with blood in her stool. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, and intravenous access. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

 

July 8

At 11:24 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 1300 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a six-year-old female patient who was suffering from a 1 ½” laceration to her head after falling into a window. Fire crews controlled the bleeding and applied a dressing. The patient was transported

 

July 9

At 4:10 p.m., Truck 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to medical assist in 00 block of East Pamela Road. Fire crews arrived to find a 92-year-old female feeling weak, dizzy, and vomiting. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12 lead electrocardiogram, administration of cardiac medications, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

 

July 10

At 10:34 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist at 1000 block of West Duarte Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a male patient who was non-responsive. Engine 106 personnel, arrived first at the scene and performed CPR in conjunction with an AED. Paramedics assessed the patient and performed advanced life support measures including; cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and oxygen therapy. The patient responded well to treatments and was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

 

 

July 11

At 7:59 p.m., Engine 106, Engine 107, Truck 105 Rescue Ambulance 106, and Battalion 105 responded to a traffic collision on Colorado Boulevard at Baldwin Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a single vehicle involved in a traffic accident. The vehicle was traveling on the eastbound 210 Freeway and veered off. After the vehicle flew off of the freeway, it came to rest on

Colorado Boulevard. The driver was assessed for possible injuries and vehicle checked for fire danger and fluid leaks. The occupant of the vehicle was evaluated and found to be injury free.
