After thoroughly enjoying our time at the recently inaugurated MAMA Gallery, a burgeoning new art space in the heart of the Arts District’s, we decided to get up close and personal with the gallery’s founders Eli Consilvio and Adarsha Benjamin. And what better way to get to know the creatively savvy and cutting-edge duo than by grabbing a cold brew and asking them a myriad of silly questions:
1. So, what’s up?
Our permanent light sculpture that spells MAMA in our space.
2. Favorite artist right now?
Would have to be Matthew Barney & Jonathan Bepler. River of Fundament just premiered in LA and it BLEW our minds, such imagination and absurdity. Also, Yoko Ono, always.
3. Who would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?
Paul McCartney, John Baldessari, David Byrne, Cindy Sherman and Yoko Ono.
4. Rock, paper, or scissors?
ROCK.
5. If we gave you $50, what would you buy?
Coffee and plants.
6. Blue or black ink?
Black.
7. Meals or snacks?
Count snackula!
8. What was the first thing you said aloud this morning?
Juniper!
9. Where do you hang out in LA?
MAMA.
10. Who would you commission to create your portrait?
ELI: My 7 year old niece has been on the grind lately. She’s definitely got something going on. Would like to give her some cash as well.
ADARSHA: Pablo Picasso. They don’t have to be alive right? 😉
11. Do anything last night?
Pizza.
12. How late did you stay up?
Always up.
13. Are you listening to music right now?
Bjork.

Yes!
