Felix Da Housecat is one of the most recognizable names in electronic music. Notability that comes from a career stemming all the way back to Chicago in 1984 (when many of today’s DJs were mere fetuses).
His latest album Narrative Of Thee Blast Illusion is a sequel to his 2011 record Son of Analog, Narrative Of Thee Blast Illusion—album which took him three years to create, symbolizes a time in Felix’s life where he is no longer concerned with proving him to a younger generation, and is focused only on making the music true to his mood. Narrative Of Thee Blast Illusion is a stripped down journey into Felix’s internal monologue in the form of a melodic soundscape of which only he is capable.
“It’s a night thing,” says Felix of the album. “It’s me tapping into melodies. It has nothing to do with hands in the air, it’s about melody and lyrics.”
Felix is currently on a world tour for the new album, which you can stream now via Thump.
