Once again Irwindale Event Center (IEC) has capped off an exciting night of NASCAR Home Track Racing with the track’s always terrific annual 4th of July Fireworks Finale. This year’s fireworks were nothing but outstanding and the largest show in the area. The 4th of July is synonymous with Cub Scout Pack 66 out of Monrovia. Monrovia Cub Scout Pack 66 had the distinct honor and privilege to present and post the colors of the United States of America and the State of California for 16th annual Independence Day celebration; before the opening races at the Irwindale Event Center Speedway.

4th of July and Cub Scouts go hand in hand. But what could be more All American than adding NASCAR, hotdogs and the best fireworks show around.

Color Guard for Pack 66 was led by Boy Scout Andrew H., who was acting Denner from Wrightwood BSA Troop 351; 1st Year Webelos Degas P., who carried and presented the Flag of the United States of America; 2nd Year Webelos Adrian G., who carried and presented the Flag of the State of California, and Bear Josef V., who carried and presented the Unit Awards. Pack 66 Bears Ezekiel, Lucas, Devin, Dylan, Evan, and Justin topped off the procession.

Pack 66 leaders present were Ed Stegman, Committee Chair and Unit Commissioner; Flor Escalante, Bear Den Leader; and Cub Master Mark Peters. Thank you to all the parents and family who cheered on the kids.

Monrovia Pack 66 would like to send a special thank you to Hugh Schenkel, who is the IEC VP of Personnel/Hospitality. He was instrumental in setting up our participation.
