The Arcadia Recreation and Community Services Department proudly announces the Summer Concert and Movie Series for 2015!
Mark your calendar! The City of Arcadia’s free summer concert series is approaching fast, so make sure you don’t miss out on the fun in the sun! The summer concerts are held on Thursday evenings starting at 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the lawn between City Hall and the Police Department (240 West Huntington Drive). Bring the kids out to participate in the free fun zone, featuring games, crafts, and activities each week. In addition, the City is pleased to announce The Grilled Cheese Truck at all of the 2015 Summer Concert Series! We look forward to making your hearts melt with all of our cheesy goodness. Yard Sale (Popular Music) and Environmental Fair – July 9
Yard Sale is a high-energy, eight-piece, horn-driven band that covers all the best dance tunes from the ‘70s through today. In addition to the 45+ summer concert series events they have done, Yard Sale is proud to say they’ve been rockin’ the Downtown Disney stage since 2013, and they’re ready to bring that top quality, family-friendly entertainment straight to you! From Earth, Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Pat Benetar, and Van Halen to Adele, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and Bruno Mars – this band truly does it all. Plus – there will be fun stuff tossed out to the kids, beach balls flying, and dancing galore! No amateurs here…the band consists of touring/studio musicians and music educators who have been doing this for 20+ years. In short, Yard Sale is a bootie-shakin’, old school, funky sounding, hard rockin’ band that will truly knock your socks off!
Movies in the Park – ‘Hook’ on July 11
The Movies in the Park are held on Friday evenings with activities starting at 6:30 p.m. and movies starting at dusk on the lawn between City Hall and the Police Department (240 West Huntington Drive). Movies in the Park provided in partnership with CHOICESS Arcadia. Hook (PG) – July 10, 2015. A grown up Peter Pan returns to Neverland when Captain Hook kidnaps his children. The exciting chase is on! Join us for the first movie of the summer.
