Fire Engineer Dave Marquez with the children of Dahalgaun
Pasadena Fire personnel: Dave Marquez, Matt Caffey and Tim Okimura are donating their time and expertise with Reach Out Worldwide to provide relief efforts to those affected by the earthquake aftermath. They’ve conducted effective medical operations in a small local town, Dahalgaun, that had not received any type of assistance. They’ve made over 70 patient contacts in the span of the first six hours after they arrived, as well as established a local food distribution center in conjunction with local residents while also distributing water filtration systems.

Additionally, they conducted brief mobile medical operations prior to returning to base and reorganizing. Field reconnaissance was conducted via motorcycles for some of reportedly hardest hit areas. The biggest towns, while significantly damaged, have already begun to receive care. They pushed further into the mountains and have identified several small villages in need of post disaster care. The team continues to work well together and moral is extremely high. They thank everyone at home for the support and remind them to continue to keep the people of Nepal in their thoughts and prayers
