Three teenagers were charged last Friday with robbing an 87-year-old man as he exercised around the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Juan Antonio Medina Martínez (DOB 1/8/96) and Gabriel Anthony Mixco (DOB 10/5/95) of Rowland Heights, and Dominick Tobiah Guzman (DOB 12/19/95) of Hacienda Heights face one felony count each of second-degree robbery and elder abuse in case GA096001.

Mixco faces an additional misdemeanor count of theft.

Martínez and Guzman pleaded not guilty to the charges, while Mixco’s arraignment was continued. They are due to return on April 28 to Department D of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pasadena Branch.

On March 27, the defendants allegedly shoved the elderly victim to the ground and took his fanny pack, prosecutors said. One of the assailants is accused of using the victim’s credit card soon after the robbery, prosecutors added.

Bail was set at $105,000 for Guzman, $80,000 for Mixco and $75,000 for Medina.

If convicted as charged, Guzman faces a possible maximum sentence of 10 years in state prison, Mixco faces six years in prison and Medina faces five years in prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Pasadena Police Department.
