

The Monrovia Wildcats defeated the Salesian Mustangs last Friday thanks to a beautiful pitching and hitting performance from their starting sophomore pitcher, Patrick Goebel (#24).
Patrick pitched 6 1/3 innings, recording 12 strikeouts, 4 walks, 0 hits and concluding with a 0.00 ERA. In case you weren’t impressed with his pitching performance, one can turn to his wood work, going 3 for 3, recording a double along with 2 RBIs.
Patrick would be relieved by Justin Rosedak (#10) in the 7th, who successfully closed the game by retiring the final two batters, recording one strikeout.
The Wildcat’s recorded a final nine hits for the game, one belonging to their lead off hitter, Eric Herrera (#13), who recorded his first home run of the season.
Monrovia’s schedule for this week is determined by the play of the Arcadia Elk’s Tournament. Next game is Tuesday, March 10th vs Bell Gardens at Veterans Park, 5:45 pm.
