Join Sheryl Peters, educator, researcher, and PMH docent, as she explores the world of domestic service downstairs at the Fenyes Mansion on Thursday, Mar. 5, 6:30 p.m. at Pasadena Museum of History.
The art, objects, and furnishings on display in historic Fenyes Mansion speak eloquently of the taste, discernment, interests, and wealth of the four generations who lived there beginning in 1907. But that is only a part of the story. Who were the men and women who cooked and cleaned, tended the gardens, and minded the children? Who were these people who ran the household with precision and efficiency in support of this lavish lifestyle?
Tickets for the illustrated presentation are $15 for Museum Members and $20 for the General Public and include complimentary refreshments and entry into the galleries, now showing the interactive history/trivia exhibitions Mystery Historyand Pasadena Pursuit. Doors open one hour prior to the lecture. Advance Reservations are required and may be purchased at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1235403. Pasadena Museum of History is located at 470 W. Walnut St. (corner Orange Grove Blvd. and Walnut St.), Pasadena 91103.
