More than 80 guests attended Hillsides gala recognition reception held on Tuesday night, January 27 at Bistro 45 in Pasadena. The event was an opportunity for Hillsides to thank the gala sponsors and for Hillsides supporters to share in the excitement of the upcoming gala, Hillsides Uncorked! Hillsides Uncorked! will be held on Saturday, February 28, at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena.
The reception was hosted by Robert and Deborah Simon, co-chairs of Hillsides Uncorked! and owners of Pasadena restaurants Bistro 45 and a/k/a Bistro. Bistro 45 is located at 45 S. Mentor Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91106.
The event was attended by Hillsides gala sponsors, board members, and many of the 27-member Hillsides Uncorked! gala committee. Robert and Deborah Simon played the roles of gracious hosts. Also attending were their good friends and long-time Hillsides supporters, Dr. Drew Pinsky and Susan Pinsky. Susan hosted Hillsides gala last year. Dr. Drew is well known for hosting the HLN nightly show, Dr. Drew On Call, as well as the nationally syndicated radio show Loveline and the Dr. Drew Podcast.

Guests will be greeted with uniquely crafted cocktails, and be offered a variety of hors d’oeuvres such as a stunning seafood display, a cornucopia of organic vegetables, and small bites of such delicacies as ahi tuna and Carpaccio. For dinner, guests will be served organically grown artichokes with dipping sauce and beautiful heirloom tomatoes with handmade burrata instead of the usual salad as a first course. Next, guests will dine on either short ribs or Chilean sea bass. For dessert, guests can choose from interactive dessert stations that will include a donut station. Throughout the cocktail reception, guests can sip on wines from nearby Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, and Santa Rita Hills.
Simon also praised Hillsides for its dedication to the sustainability of the children in Hillsides care, and also the hard work of the gala committee. He urged everyone to attend the gala, as it is the largest fundraiser of the year for Hillsides and will help the agency serve the 8,950 individuals it helps throughout Los Angeles County.
Besides fine dining and food, Hillsides Uncorked! will provide dancing, a silent auction, and a live auction emceed by NBC4 Weathercaster Fritz Coleman. Tickets to Hillsides Uncorked! are $300 per person, and sponsorships are also available.
