“A Walk in the Woods” (1/23-2/21, Sierra Madre Playhouse) – Set in the midst of the Cold War, Lee Blessing’s powerful play dramatizes a stand-off between U.S. and Soviet arms negotiators as they battle for supremacy. Full of tension and humor, A Walk in the Woods shows how the relationship between the two experts evolves as they stroll in the woods above Geneva, away from the glare of the negotiating table – SIERRA MDARE

“Clean Start” (1/23-2/15, CASA 0101 Theater) – This is a comedic play centering around Parker Reed, a down-on-her-luck Beverly Hills socialite, and Rosario Martinez, her Latina maid who lives in a small, two bedroom house in East Los Angeles – BOYLE HEIGHTS

New Shanghai Circus (1/23 @ 2 p.m. & 8 p.m., Alex Theater) – Come enjoy a circus performance from the acrobats of China – GLENDALE

Excursion (1/23 @ 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Hart Park House Senior Center) – Adult cost $5. This event will visit the Los Angeles Public Library’s state of the art Central Library located in Downtown. A docent-led tour will introduce you to the art and architecture of the Goodhue Building with its distinctive sphinxes and rooftop pyramid followed by a walk through the Bradley Wing designed by famed architect Norman Pfeiffer – SIERRA MADRE
