Vaneity Medical Weight Loss was founded on Jan. 10, 2014 by Fabian Gutierrez and Dr. Maxine Ingham. Before starting the company, both spent years working in the medical field. Fabian worked in the intensive care section of various hospitals and Dr. Ingham spent many years in the medical field as a medical director, researcher, and consultant.
The company is named after Vanessa “Vane” Velez, Fabian’s fiance and a partner in the company. In August of 2013, while at the Mayan ruins of Tulum, Mexico, the two UC Berkeley alumni decided that they had been neglecting their own well-being, having focused their energies largely on their careers and families. That’s when Fabian decided that he would start a business that incorporated his love for medicine along with his desires to help others and to work with his fiancé. Thus, Vaneity was born.
Vaneity Medical Weight Loss provides physician-guided weight loss solutions to people who have been diagnosed as overweight, obese and morbidly obese, as a means to prevent further medical complications, increase energy levels and trim inches. Vaneity’s products and services include burning lipotropic medications, Vitamin B-12 injections and appetite suppressants. Patients may also receive healthy recipes, nutrition guides, a fitness DVD, and fitness boot camps with a personal trainer.
The Vaneity team believes in the power of providing great customer service, and was voted Best Medical Weight Loss in LA County by LA Hotlist. Each patient is seen as an individual, having his or her own unique needs that require tailored care.
There are plans to eventually open five new locations throughout California, but for now, the company is focused on adding quality staff members to their family. Vaneity is currently accepting new patients on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. With the added staff members, Vaneity hopes to be open for new business seven days a week.
