The Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Coalition, with the cooperation of the Pasadena Unified School District and Dr. Merian Stewart, Principal of Washington Middle School, is proudly sponsoring “A Day On – Not Off” at Washington Middle School on Saturday, January 17.
Everyone is welcome to join in from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to help plant flowers to beautify this local middle school. After wards, the MLK Coalition invites volunteers to “have fun!” and enjoy entertainment performed by the kids from Washington Middle School, as well as renowned guest speakers: Keynote Speaker Gerald K. Freeny, Tournament of Roses Secretary and future 2019 Tournament of Roses President; Terrence James Roberts, one of the Little Rock Nine (the first black students to attend Little Rock Central High School in 1957); and Jack Scott, Chancellor Emeritus at California Community Colleges.
There will also be food-so please, join in! Washington Middle School, 1505 Marengo Ave., Pasadena. MLK Coalition President is Dr. Jacqueline Jacobs. Project Coordinators are Al Bailey (626-355-1583) and Joan Reid (626-797-7367); please call for more information.
