126TH ROSE PARADE
Thursday, January 1, 2015 – 8:00am

The 126th Rose Parade themed “Inspiring Stories,” will feature floral floats, spirited marching bands and high-stepping equestrian units along the 5 1/2 mile route down Colorado Boulevard. Free curbside viewing is also available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pasadena city ordinance allows the occupancy of curbside space along the parade route beginning at noon on the day before the parade.

ARCADIA

January 6 — Arcadia Senior Services (375 Campus Drive)
is offering a musical lecture that will focus on the life of Bing Crosby at the Arcadia
Community Center, 365 Campus Drive at 1:30 pm. The lecture highlight the life and
music of Bing Crosby, “Call Me Lucky”. This Timeless Melodies Foundation for Education
musical program will trace Bing’s roots and early musical inspirations and how radio
impacted the development of popular music. The presentation will go into the motion picture
and sound recordings he made, plus his musical/movie career with Bob Hope. This program
is suggested for individuals 50 years of age and older.Tickets are available until Monday, January 2, 2015. For additional information please call Arcadia Senior Services 626.574.5130.

GLENDALE

January 2 — Downtown Glendale Farmers’ Market at First Baptist Church parking lot (Maryland Avenue between California and Wilson) at 1:30 p.m. Free.

January 1 — Post Parade: A Showcase of Floats Presented by Miracle-Gro at E. Sierra Madre Blvd. and E. Washington Blvd. from Thursday, January 1, 2015 – 1:00 p.m. to Saturday, January 3, 2015 – 5:00 p.m. After the Rose Parade floats are parked along Sierra Madre and Washington Boulevards for close-up views of the design and workmanship that goes into their creation. January 5 — Free Citizenship Classes at Rosemead Library (8800 Valley Blvd.) Thursdays, Jan. 8 – March 26, 2015 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m.
This free 12-week ESL/Civics course will address the new naturalization form
that took effect May 5, 2014. Instructors for the classes will discuss the new
questions at length in an effort to assist legal permanent residents (LPRs) with
the citizenship process. The classes will cover the 100 civics questions as well
as the N-400 application. Mock interviews and other activities will be conducted
throughout the course to help students build their foundation in English
