December 19 — Day One’s “Cherishing Children” Holiday event behind Pasadena City Hall (175 N. Euclid Ave.) from 5:00 -8:00 pm. Come hear the sounds of children giddy with laughter as they throw snowballs, form snow angels behind Pasadena City Hall, and line up to receive a gift from the man-in-red himself during Day One’s fifth annual “Cherishing Children” Holiday Celebration. December 19 — Kid’s Night Out at Arcadia Community Center (365 Campus Drive) from 6-11 pm. This event provides kids a night of fun and play so mom and dad can enjoy an
evening out or a quiet evening at home. Recreation Staff and Volunteers offer dinner, themed games, movies, and supervision for children ages 4 and above. The cost is $15.00 per child and also includes snacks and beverages. Online mandatory pre-registration is available at

December 23 — Yoga in the Garden at the Arboretum (301 North Baldwin Avenue) from 5:30 – 6:45 pm.Certified yoga instructor Candyce Columbus will take students on a 10-15 minute warm-up stroll through the garden prior to an hour-long rejuvenating traditional Indian Hatha yoga class. Cost: $15.
December 22 — Winter Kid’s Camp! at Stocker Elementary School (422 W. Lemon Avenue) , December 22, 23, 26, 29, 30 and January 2, 2015 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This retreat is open to elementary school children ages 6-11 and provides a safe, supervised, kid friendly retreat during winter vacation. Cost: $20 per day. The camp is filled with fun group activities including crafts, board games, movies, snacks and more. Children must bring a sack lunch each day. December 20 — Candlelight Tours at the Doctors House Museum (1601 W Mountain St.) from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Doctors HOuse will be decorated for the holidays in true Victorian style. Enjoy self-guided museum tours and live holiday music.The Doctors House is an authentically restored Queen Anne-Eastlake style Victorian home built around 1888. The artist collaborative Fallen Fruit (David Burns & Austin Young) invites the public to adopt a citrus tree and plant it in a public space or alongside private property to create new kinds of community based on generosity and sharing. December 21 — Sierra Madre Playhouse Presents A Little House Christmas at Sierra Madre Playhouse (87 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.) at 7:00 pm. – Winters are harsh on the Minnesota prairie, and this year’s storm threatens to block Santa’s visit to the Ingalls’ modest home. This warm, wonderful family play is adapted from several Laura Ingalls Wilder “Little House” stories and features one of Pa’s famous stories and lots of song and dance. Cost: $15.00 – $28.00.
