November 22 – 23 — The Pasadena City College Foundation Presents the 2nd Annual Million Meals Marathon at PCC Parking Lot 1 (Corner of Hill Ave. and Colorado Blvd.) at 11 am. In an effort to combat hunger in local communities, Pasadena City College will be holding its second annual Million Meals Marathon Food Drive on the campus Nov. 22 to 23. From 11 a.m. on Saturday to 11 a.m. on Sunday, organizers and volunteers will be on campus collecting donations for non-perishable food items for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and the Pasadena Humane Society.. This year’s Million Meals Marathon Food Drive will feature live music, giveaways, vendor booths, and a raffle for larger donations. Freund said the goal is to collect more than 2,000 pounds of non-perishable food. That amount will be enough to stock both food banks for two to three months. In lieu of a non-perishable food item, organizers will also be accepting monetary donations on-site or through the PCC Foundation website at www.pasadena.edu/give. Free.

ARCADIA

November 20 – 22 Arcadia High School Theatre Department presents Alice In Wonderland at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center ( 188 Campus Drive) November 20th & 21st at 7pm and November 22nd at 4pm. Tickets may be purchased from any Arcadia High School theatre student or online at www.arcadiastage.com. Tickets are $10 for Students/Seniors; $15 for General Admission; and $30 for VIP. Each ticket offers over $75 in discounts at local restaurants

November 21 — “Caring Conversations” a program for Caregivers at the Arcadia Community Center, 375 Campus Drive at 10 am. The City of Arcadia Recreation & Community Services Department – Senior Services Division in partnership with USC Davis School of Gerontology is hosting a series of workshops on De-Stressing Techniques the third Friday of each month Come out to receive important information to relieve stress in your life as a caregiver. Workshop dates are: Fridays, November 21, January 16, February 20 and March 20.

November 21 — “Parkinson’s Support Group” presented by the City of Arcadia Recreation & Community Services Department – Senior Services at the Arcadia Community Center, 365 Campus Drive at 1:30 pm. In partnership with Neurosearch, Inc. of Pasadena provides the Parkinson’s Support Group for individuals with movement disorders, their family and friends willing to learning about this disease. The meeting dates are the third Friday of each month at 1:30 pm. Come out to receive important information from guest speakers and enjoy light refreshments served. Arcadia Senior Services and its Parkinson Support Group are providing a special presentation. The lecture will focus on, “Tai Chi Balance Therapy and Parkinson Disease”. This educational presentation is for all individuals affected by Parkinson’s disease. If you have a movement disorder, have family members or friends with Parkinson Disease this program provides information on how Parkinson Disease can be influenced by exercise. November 21– Time: 8:00 p.m. Stop Kiss at the Pasadena Playhouse (39 South El Molino Ave.) at 8:00 p.m. STOP KISS marks The Playhouse directorial debut of Seema Sueko, who joined The Playhouse staff in January 2014. Originally produced Off-Broadway at The Public Theater, with a cast including Sandra Oh and Jessica Hecht, this critically acclaimed play received the GLAAD Media Award for Best New York Production. STOP KISS tells the story of Sara and Callie, who are walking through New York City’s West Village late at night when they share their first kiss. This leads to a vicious attack by an angry bystander, in which Sara is horribly injured. Throughout STOP KISS, relationships are explored, formed, and even ended.
