Arcadia Post Office…Mensa Society Candidate? NOT!

Whoever was responsible for this absurd bit of planning truly needs their head examined.
These perfectly fine drive-up post boxes were recently relocated from a safe drive through in the rear of the Arcadia post office. Now, someone, in his infinite wisdom had placed the mail boxes on the sidewalk on the street with the openings to boxes facing north. Now, this is all well and good, if we simply drive on the right, as we do in the UK. You see my point.
So you see , everything is backwards. Also, as my esteemed colleague, Kimberly Eshoo pointed out, the bloody twits put the mail boxes in a RED ZONE. It makes no sense, creates driving dangers as people get out of their cars confused trying to mail off that Christmas card to Granny. Additionally, cars back up while drivers attempt to outstretch their arms to the passenger seat and hopefully aim a letter into the box. Thank God Granny has email!
You add that to the fact that people driving west on Santa Clara illegally turn left all the time over a double yellow line just to get in to 24 hour Fitness and you have instant gridlock.
