Locally shot movie ‘Life Inside Out’ Screens Oct 17
Real Life Local Mom/Son Star in film
After a multi-awards journey on the festival circuit, a new film is now having its theatrical debut exclusively in the LA market. “Life Inside Out,” remarkably big-hearted without being corny, was shot primarily in the Pasadena/Monrovia/Highland Park area.
Finneas O’Connell, the lead actor, who at only 17 equips himself surprisingly well as an actor, singer, songwriter, and musician, begins a recurring role on America’s beloved comedy series “Modern Family” which will begin to air just about the time this film debuts. He will star as the new next door neighbor and son of Steve Zahn’s character.
“Life Inside Out”‘s Maggie Baird co-wrote the screenplay based on her own experiences as a mom of two who had almost forgotten how much she loved singing and songwriting until it became clear that picking up the guitar again might be the only way to connect with her increasingly distant son. His surprising moral support and musical curiosity led him to learning how to play and, ultimately, write and sing his own songs (many featuring his mom). They harmonize beautifully!!
Mothering is not Maggie’s only skill. Aside from co-writing the screenplay for “Life Inside Out,” she has worked extensively in television appearing in such productions as “The X Files,” “Chicago Hope,” “Six Feet Under,” “Manic,” and countless others. As a singer-songwriter, she has released two full length albums and performs her original music in clubs around Los Angeles.
