City Attorney Mike Feuer today announced today that former UCLA student government commissioner Omar Arce, 22, has pled no-contest to seven counts of sexual battery, four counts of simple battery and one count of false imprisonment
Sentencing was continued for one year, but the court remanded Arce into custody immediately to serve an anticipated 180-day sentence. He is also required to stay away from the UCLA campus (from which he was already expelled), abide by protective orders covering the victims, abstain from alcohol consumption, stay away from places where alcohol is the chief item for sale, and pay any restitution. If he fails to comply, he will be sentenced to one year in jail and have to register as a sex offender.
The charges stemmed from allegations from a female student earlier this year. Deputy City Attorney Spencer Hart prosecuted the case.
A Court ordered restitution hearing is scheduled for December 23, 2014.
