Lancers win a wild one at Pasadena in OT 28-21. This game was worth the price of admission as athletes for both teams were making plays all over the field. The Lancers were led on offense by Nico Cantos who rushed for over 200 yards and three touchdowns while also playing stellar defense in the Lancer secondary. Robbie Hillier II made a big time punt return in the first half and an even bigger interception to halt Pasadena from taking the lead with Less than a minute to play in regulation. David La Salle was an absolute beast on defense for the Lancers as he lived in the Pasadena backfield chasing the QB all night long. Emari Mc Clellan played like a veteran on both sides of the ball but truly impressed on the offensive line. Isiah Spencer-Lopez who is 6’6″ is turning into one of the finer cornebacks in the area out of nowhere while also making big crunchtime plays at wide receiver for La Salle. Josh Yee was busy all night on the defensive side of the ball as well.
This was a true test for this year’s Lancers and it gave them an opportunity to find out what they are made of in this young 2014 season. Coach Gordon and his staff were just as exhausted at the end of this one as well. The Lancers can celebrate tonight but the schedule doesn’t get any easier with Bishop Diego coming to town next week. http://lasallelancers.org/news/2014/9/6/FB_0906144529.aspx?path=football
