The 10th annual “Action on Film Festival” was its most action packed year yet, showcasing nearly 500 projects both from the US and countries around the world. And don’t let the name fool you into thinking this is a yearly gathering of Steven Seagal fans getting their fill of non-stop action flicks, the “Action on Film Festival” is about the appreciation of action captured in all film genres and the people behind the camera taking action to get them made.
In fact, since Del Weston initially established it as a venue to showcase unseen talent in 2004, the AOF has become one of the fastest growing festivals in the country and it has evolved into many action-making entities of its own. In addition to being renowned for its quality selection of films and videos, the festival has also become infamous for it’s sold out black tie galas attracting more celebrities into the mix each year. With an impressive list of past guests that include D.B. Sweeney, Harry Lennix, John Savage and Tom Sizemore, each year the festival awards its biggest honors to new talent with over $100,000 given out in cash and gifts. In 2011, it also became one of the only International festivals to have its own television show featuring the work of top AOF Filmmakers and celebrity guests
