July tickets to”6 RMS RIV VU” are special at $19.72
By Fran Syverson

There’s still time to buy the special $19.72 tickets to “6 RMS RIV VU” soon to open at the Sierra Madre Playhouse, but only until July 31. The romantic comedy is set in Broadway in 1972, and the play opened in 1972. So, in a fun ploy, the Playhouse is offering all tickets purchased in July for $19.72. That’s a pleasant savings from regular adult and senior prices, and tickets can be used on any date throughout the run.

“6 RMS RIV VU” is the rental ad describing a Manhattan apartment overlooking the Hudson. A man and a woman, two of the prospective tenants, find themselves trapped in the apartment because of a faulty doorknob. Remember: No cell phones in 1972! They’ll have to wait out the night for rescue. As they talk, they find common interests, they banter with brilliant repartee, and even begin to sense a chemistry between them. The night stretches on….

Opening night is Aug. 1, and the play runs weekends through Sept. 6. For tickets, call 626-355-4318 or visit sierramadreplayhouse.org.
