‘Tomorrow’s Forecast ‘ Kicks off ‘Mi-Fi Mondays’ at Red White + Bluezz July 28
By Terry Miller
There’s an astounding music scene in Pasadena but not everyone yet knows about the latest really cool gig which will kick start July 28 at the popular Red White and Bluezz next to Pasadena Playhouse.
It is actually a great marriage of musicians and food industry professionals who want a night away- for those in the business to let their hair down, so to speak.
The new patio will be open and the band invites area musicians to bring an instrument and jam with some of the top names in the business.
Some might call it ‘Smooth Jazz’, others ‘contemporary’ to some ‘Neo Soul..’ But in the blending of Jazz, Funk, R&B and Blues the band Tomorrow’s Forcast likes to think of it as “Groove Music”. “Whatever style we happen to be floating in the music will keep your feet tapping and your ears smiling! We are very fortunate to have a few of LA’s Best session Cats here to groove for YOU ! We invite you to evening of great music that’s promises to be good to your Earhole!!” Touch Singleton said.
The band features talented and well-seasoned, accomplished musicians:
Touch Singleton: Guitars; Derrick Murdock, Bass; Menno De Boer, keyboards and Tray Potts : Drums
Touch Singleton has played with: Rose Royce, Phillip Bailey, Earth, Wind and Fire., Billy Davis Marilyn Mc Coo, Helen Baylor, Ramsey Lewis’ Urban Knights, Howard Mc Cary, Donald Bell, Visions and Mass Groove Syndicate.
Derrick Murdock has performed with: Dr Dre, Will Smith, Heuy Lweis, Rose Royce, Mandrill, Jim Carrey, Bill Cosby Solomon Burke, Peter Frampton, The Jazz Crusanders, Frank Gambale, Tom Scott, Eric Marienthal, Cherrell, The Dazz Band, Deniece Williams, Andre Crouch, Bobby Caldwell, Angela Bofill, David Boneit, Hugh Masekela, Bobby Lyle, Jon Lucien and Jason Miles.
Tray Potts has played with Jill Scott, Mike Phillips, Kelly Price, Whitney Houston, Faith Evans, Kenny Lattamore Anthony Hamiton, Yo Yo , Montell Jordan, Deniece Williams, Taste of Honey, Tamia, Pretty Ricky, Darrell Crawford and Pleasure P.
And last but by no means least, Menno De Boer: keyboards has an illustrious history too:
A composer/producer who graduated from Rotterdam Conservatory, Menno enjoyed chart success in Europe, before moving out to Kenya, where he worked as a composer/engineer for East Africa’s largest AV-production facility.
Menno came to the USA in 2011, and is steadily gaining wider recognition in the LA music scene. This is an opportunity to see and meet some great area musicians, Tell ‘em Pasadena Independent sent you!
