29th Annual Free Children’s Festival Of The Arts August 10
The Hollywood Arts Council (HAC) will present their family fun-filled FREE 29th Annual Children’s Festival of the Arts on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 12-Noon to 4:30 p.m. at Paramount Pictures, 5555 Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, CA 90038. Casey McCabe, on-air talent for AMP Radio 97.1 FM will serve as the Event Emcee.
The Children’s Festival is a celebration of the arts and culture in Hollywood. Festivities will include performances featuring a variety of music, dance and entertainment from around the world for all ages. An assortment of art workshops led by professional artists will provide children with the opportunity to create their own art pieces as souvenirs. The event will include the appearances of child film and television celebrities, face painters and strolling costumed characters, including Bugs Bunny from Six Flags Magic Mountain and The Amazing Dave (Magician Dave DeVito). “This wonderful non-commercial event has become a family tradition,” according to HAC executive director Shauna McClure. “People whose parents brought them to the festival in the past are now bringing their own kids.”

Confirmed child film and television celebrities who will sign autographs and hang out with their fans from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Paramount Theatre in front a Hollywood Arts Council’s Step and Repeat banner On The Red Carpet will include: McKenna Grace (Goodbye World; The Young and the Restless; The Bridge); Victoria Grace (Ronin; Tracks; A Matter of Choice); Xolo Maridueña (Imagen Award-nominated actor, Parenthood; Major Crimes); Mavrick Moreno (Every Witch Way; Parental Guidance); Ashley Romeo (The Lesson; Girl of my Dreams); Kendall Ryan Sanders (Every Witch Way; The Odd Life of Timothy Green; Criminal Minds); Paris Smith (Imagen Award-nominated actress, Every Witch Way; Modern Family), Justin Tinucci (Standing Up; Trophy Wife; iCarly) and Elias Washington (Hope For Love; Real Husbands of Hollywood). Additional child celebrities will soon be announced.
The Council also created the Annual Awards Luncheon “The Charlies” to honor individuals and organizations for their significant contributions to the arts and Hollywood. Through the years, the Council has spearheaded many community arts projects. It also serves as a catalyst convening artists and arts organizations addressing issues of concern. Most recently it introduced the Stayin’ Live initiative to address the loss of live theatre space in Hollywood. The Council promotes Hollywood’s performing arts with a daily calendar of arts activities published in Discover Hollywood magazine and on its website www.hollywoodartscouncil.org.
