Closures of Southbound Baldwin Avenue in Arcadia announced

Crews will be installing underground duct banks and electrical vaults on southbound Baldwin Ave between the I-210 Freeway overpass to just south of Colorado Blvd in the City of Arcadia. During this work, crews will implement full closures of southbound Baldwin Ave which will include a 3-day full closure followed by two weeks of full nighttime closures. Once all underground work is complete, paving on southbound Baldwin Ave will begin. This work is being performed as part of the 11.5-mile Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension light rail project.
The work is starting Sunday, July 6, 2014 at midnight for approximately two weeks. Work hours: Sunday, midnight – 6:00 am; and Monday – Thursday, 9:00 pm to 6:00 am. No work will take place on Fridays or Saturdays.
Southbound Baldwin Ave will be closed to thru-traffic at Colorado Blvd. The access road from eastbound Colorado Blvd onto southbound Baldwin Ave will remain open and accessible. The off-ramp from eastbound I-210 freeway at Baldwin Ave will remain open for northbound Baldwin Ave traffic only, with the exception of a 2-night complete closure of the off-ramp.

Anticipated to start on Monday, July 21, 2014 for approximately two weeks (upon completion of the nighttime closures of southbound Baldwin Ave):
Description: The access road from eastbound Colorado Blvd onto southbound Baldwin Ave will be closed to thru-traffic. Detours and signage will be posted to direct motorists around the closure.

” During the closures, traffic will be detoured and signage will be posted to direct motorists.
” Sidewalk access will remain open on the east side of the Baldwin Ave during this work.
” Noise from construction equipment will be produced near the active work zones.
” Lighting equipment used to illuminate the nighttime work will be directed towards the work zones.
” Access to all local businesses and residences will remain open at all times by use of detour routes.
