A five-year project from concept to completion, the 2,500 square foot Arcadia History Museum Education center was officially dedicated last Saturday, June 28th, with appropriate fanfare, speeches, and accolades.
Long a dream of Arcadia’s first female mayor Floretta Lauber, the Museum Education Center will fill a void in the museum’s ability to bring in guest lecturers on various subjects of interest to Arcadia specifically.

The Museum Foundation was the founding sponsor and donated $500,000.00 to the City of Arcadia towards the cost of the building.
Mayor John Wuo presented an obviously emotional Floretta Lauber with a special commemoration which thanks her for her tireless efforts these past five years in spearheading the project. The plaque will be placed on a wall in the Education Center.
The overflow crowd was treated to a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a special desserts buffet reception, which was presented by the Friends of the Museum. The mayor and city council members, plus many community members, including numerous former mayors, enjoyed tours of the building. For more information, please call the Museum at 626/574-5468.
