The public is invited to attend a free roundtable discussion on homeless issues in Pasadena from 4-6 p.m., Thursday at the Housing and Career Services Department’s Renaissance Plaza Community Room, 649 N. Fair Oaks Ave., 2nd floor.
Experts will discuss the state of homelessness in Pasadena and how the City, local nonprofit agencies, faith-based organizations and the business community are trying to work together on homelessness issues. The public is welcome to hear from the panelists, ask questions and share their ideas.
Panelists scheduled to attend include:
Anne Lansing, Pasadena Housing and Career Services Department.
Gregg von Fempe, Union Station Homeless Services
Shawn Morrissey, Housing Works
Elgin Lee, Pasadena Police Department, HOPE Team
Will Rivera, Pasadena City Attorney/City Prosecutor’s Office
Erlinda Romo, Playhouse Business Improvement District
William Huang, Director, Pasadena Housing and Career Services Department
Pasadena, like most cities, continues to face on-going, complex issues related to homelessness, even though the number of homeless in Pasadena has declined about 46 percent during the past three years. Innovative solutions, local and regional partnerships, enforcement/public safety and the ongoing search for continued federal and state funding are part of the multi-faceted challenges that panelists will talk about.
For program information, visit the Housing and Career Services Department online at www.cityofpasadena.net/Housing.
