JOIN US FOR A FULL DAY OF CELEBRATING YOUR HEALTH!
When: Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Pasadena City College, Creveling Lounge
Men Educating Men About Health (MEMAH), in partnership with Pasadena City College, is pleased to announce the return of Get Healthy Pasadena 2014! This important event will include FREE health screenings for both men and women ages 18 and up. These screenings include prostate, diabetes, cholesterol, stroke, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), vision, hearing, dental, HIV, liver, kidney, and much more. This year Get Healthy will offer one of the hardest screenings to find anywhere, the PSA prostate screening. The event also includes seminar talks and panel discussions on some of the most prevalent health issues by leading healthcare professionals, including kidney and liver disease, prostate cancer, GMO’s, and mental illness and guns.
The Mental Illness & Guns seminar will take place from 10:45 – 11:45 a.m. in the WiFi Room at PCC, and features Dr. Rick Williamson, psychologist with the Headington Institute, Dr. James Lisk of MEMAH, and Pasadena police officer Victor Cass, president of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. This discussion will be a unique and in-depth look at the recent tragic events and how we as a community can prevent a similar situation from occurring here. We want as many people as possible to come and join the conversation.
See page 2 for the seminar schedule. Those who attend 3 seminars or 2 seminars & 3 screenings will receive a VIP pass. The VIP pass is a fast track to getting both health screenings and lunch. Lunch will be provided by Bristol Farms, Corner Bakery, Heirloom, StoneFire Grill, Twohey’s, Robin’s Woodfire BBQ, and Whole Foods.
Join us on June 7 for free screenings, important seminars, delicious & healthy food from the best restaurants in Pasadena, and great entertainment!
