The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, in partnership with Carmine’s and a family of formerly Arcadia natives, have organized a night of healthy dining at Carmine’s on Wednesday, April 30 from 6pm to 9pm, in support of three year old leukemia patient, Aubrey Castro’s wish to raise money to Conquer Childhood Cancers!
Worldwide a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes, and one in five children diagnosed in the U.S. will not survive. With only 4 percent of all federal cancer research funding dedicated to pediatric cancer research, St. Baldrick’s Foundation volunteers, supporters and donors are needed to continue the battle against this devastating disease.
Aubrey Castro was diagnosed in May 2013 with ALL leukemia and is currently undergoing maintenance treatment. Her mother, Vanessa Castro and their family will travel to Boston for the 5th annual Shave for the Brave event. As part of their fundraising for the foundation, they have partnered with owner of Carmine’s for a night where customers dine in or take out resulting in 10% of sales being donated to the Castro Family’s St. Baldrick’s fundraising page. Also onsite will be greeting cards hand painted by Aubrey. They sell for $5 each and can be used for all occasions.
