Three hikers missing in the Angeles National Forest above Sierra Madre were found Thursday morning, according to Sierra Madre Police.
Searchers made contact with the three young men in their 20’s around 4 a.m.
Police received a 911 call from one of the hikers around 9:17 p.m. Wednesday. The caller told a dispatcher the trio had hiked from the Chantry Flats picnic site and trailhead up to the Mount Wilson Observatory and had got lost coming back down.
The caller said they had begun their hike around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The search party included deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Temple station, and members of Sierra Madre and Montrose Search and Rescue teams.
