Relay For Life of Monrovia is Crawling For a Cure
The Cancer Fighting Superheroes of Monrovia Fundraise and Seek Volunteers through a Pub Crawl
Monrovia, CA: Saturday March 22, 2014 ,Relay For Life of Monrovia a local grassroots movement to end cancer is having their annual Crawl for a Cure in an effort to raise awareness of the movement, recruit volunteers, and fundraise to finish the fight against cancer. Relay For Life of Monrovia has been an active member of Monrovia for many years, offering services and support to those battling cancer through its contribution to the American Cancer Society, as well as lifesaving cancer information to the community. We continue our mission of eliminating cancer thanks to the dedicated community volunteers that Monrovia has.
Though we have come very far, and have always seen great success year after year the fight to end cancer is far from over and as hard times hit many families lives the scarcity of time becomes ever more present. Ask the volunteers who currently serve the community though and they will reiterate that they aren’t simply walking or relaying for a cure, but even going so far as to crawl for a cure. Recruitment efforts to gain more community involvement are under way with events such as the Pub Crawl. This vigorous attitude is what propels the fleet forward through the sometimes harsh waters and what Michele Metcalf, the current chair of the event, hopes to foster in her community.
To secure the communities interest along with the Pub Crawl on March 22, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the Relay For Life of Monrovia is also having a Bark For Life. That’s right even your four legged friends are in on the fun and life preserving efforts, and on Sunday, March 30, 2014, you can see them strolling around Library Park from 10am to 1pm showing their support of the cause.
About Relay For Life of Monrovia: Relay For Life of Monrovia, has been raising funds for the American Cancer Society for over a decade now, and in the last five years alone has raised over $346,000. The city of Monrovia has been honored year after year for their involvement and dedication of volunteers in Relay For Life with the American Cancer Society.
