H&M gets a tip of our hat this week for furthering their sustainability campaign by launching the brand’s first line made from recycled textile fiber as part of their Garment Collecting Initiative, launched in Feb. ‘13. Set to be released by the end of February ’14 (thank goodness because we sure do hate waiting) the capsule collection will consist of five classic denim pieces made from 20% recycled cotton. The aptly named Conscious Collection will continue H&M’s trajectory toward sustainable, and, yes, still affordable clothes.

Oh, BTW, H&M has been on that eco-friendly tip. Already halting production of angora products and no longer use of PFC, a chemical commonly used for water repellency — PFCs are harmful to the environment and aquatic life, and, let’s face it, we can’t really F with that anymore. Their goal is to make sustainable fashion affordable and available to as many people as possible. Good fa’ you H&M, good fa’ you.
