PREVIEW: A DAY IN THE DESERT

Slightly disillusioned with the influx of kandi ravers and bad bands infiltrating the music festival circuit? Us too. Luckily for us, the good folks at ‘SUP Magazine have decided to take matters into their own hands by throwing a bonafide desert party of their own this weekend (10/25-10/27). No stranger to curating uniquely intimate music experiences, ‘SUP’s party of its own is dubbed A Day in the Desert, a micro-festival to be held in an intimate nook just outside of Joshua Tree. Limited to 150 tickets, the event’s admission fees include all food and drink, camping and activities. The lineup of talent is eclectic, ranging from LA-based disco mavens, Cosmic Kids, to experimental rockers and oddly-named band, Prostitutes. All that against the starkly bare backdrop of the desert? Sounds like a rad weekend getaway to us. See below for some snaps of last year’s event, a peek at this year’s new space, and some tracks from the talent who’ll be playing the festival.
