Big Bear Lake Getting Ready for snow

Hard to believe in this triple digit weather
Big Bear Lake Resort Association put its lift and lodging packages on sale to the public with packages starting as low as $69 per person per night, with double occupancy. The deeply discounted packages include discounted accommodations at one of Big Bear’s participating lodges bundled together with discounted, all-day, interchangeable lift tickets good for both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. Lift tickets include complimentary shuttle service between both resorts.
Today’s on-sale date marks the first time ever Big Bear has released its lift and lodging packages in September. The early date gives skiers and snowboarders an opportunity to start planning a ski trip to Big Bear and get great discounted rates for their winter vacation.
“These discounted packages give big, big, big savings!” said Big Bear Lake Resort Association Director of Operations Rebecca Hrabia. “The best way plan for a winter getaway is to start by saving money before you get here.”
The bundled Lift and Lodging packages are designed to convenience Big Bear guests with one stop shopping, but more importantly the price cuts help guests save a significant amount of money. Midweek Lift and Lodging packages start as low as $69 per person per night, with double occupancy. Weekend Lift and Lodging Packages are from $89 per person, per night, with double occupancy and require a minimum of two nights lodging and two days of lift tickets. Check-in dates for packages begin January 6, 2014. Big Bear Lake Resort Association suggests people book now in order to reserve the best possible lodging choices, especially for weekends in January and February.
“It does make a difference to book early. This is why we put the ski packages on sale in September to give everyone a chance to plan early and get what they really want,” said Hrabia.
Both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain provide excellent snow conditions throughout the winter season with more than 435 developed acres, 26 lifts, four high-speed chairs, 1,800 vertical feet, and more than 200 park features. Quality skiing and riding combined with a wide range of lodging choices such as private home rentals, charming bed & breakfasts, cozy condos and rustic cabins make Big Bear Lake Southern California’s premier ski and snowboard destination. Whether it’s at the base of the slopes, lakefront, in the village, or countryside, every lodge in Big Bear creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that fits every lifestyle and budget.
Big Bear Lake is an easy two-hour drive from most Southern California cities and only three hours from Las Vegas making it a convenient winter “stay-cation” within a reasonable driving distance. Big Bear has quality snow and is a close by and affordable alternative to places like Tahoe, Utah or Colorado.
Lift and Lodging Packages are not valid on select holiday periods. The discounted packages are good for any time of the week with check-in dates starting January 6, 2014 to the end of the 2013/2014 ski season. Price is per person, per night based on double occupancy, and subject to availability. Minimum of two nights of lodging and two days lift tickets for weekend packages are required. At least half of the guests in the party must purchase lift tickets for all packages. Check-in dates for the lodging packages begin January 6, 2014. Lift ticket vouchers and lodging discounts are not valid during the holiday periods; December 21, 2013 to January 5, 2014; January 18-20, 2014, and February 15-17, 2014. Dates are subject to change.
