CASA 0101 THEATER AND MEXIKA FILMS PRESENT “LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS” A Journey from Self-Destruction To Self-Realization
Carlos Alvarado, a gang member from Los Angeles is on the road to self-destruction in the play, “Light In The Darkness.” A sudden tragic event forces him to come face-to-face with all the pain and loss he carries and has caused. Is it too late for him to turn things around?
Casa 0101 Theater and Mexica Films present “Light In The Darkness,” a story of young gang member’s journey from self-destruction to self-realization. Written by Victor Tamayo and directed and adapted by Ramon “Monxi” Flores, the play will be presented at the new Casa 0101 Theater, 2102 E. First Street (at St. Louis Street), Boyle Heights, CA 90033. Pay What You Can Previews will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 4 and 5, 2013 at 8:00 p.m, followed by a four-week run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 5:00 p.m., September 6 – 29, 2013.

Actor Johnny Ortiz (of Highland Park) stars a Carlos Alvarado leading a cast of 19 actors portraying 49 various roles in the play. Tickets for Preview performances of “Light In The Darkness,” to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 4 and 5, 2013 at 8:00 p.m., are Pay What You Can. Tickets to performances of the play to be presented on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. during its four-week run, September 6 – 29, 2013 are $20 for General Admission, $17 for Students, Seniors and Groups of 10 or more, and $15 for Boyle Heights residents with identification.
