Helen Marie Kyne

Helen Marie Kyne, 96, passed away August 23, 2013 at her home in Dove Mountain Marana, Arizona surrounded by her dear family and friends. Helen was born on April 20, 1917 in Glenvil, Nebraska to Sam and Marie (Nowka) Schliep. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Glenvil. She married Arthur Kyne on November 20, 1937 in Monterey Park, California where they made their home while Art went to war. Upon Art’s return from WWII they had a full and busy life in Monrovia, California. After Art’s death Helen moved to Marana in 2003. Helen had a wonderful sense of humor and always loved cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was a talented seamstress. . She was preceded in death by her parents; Sam and Marie Schliep, husband; Arthur, brothers; Christopher, Lloyd, and Ralph, sisters; Lorna Peters and Delma McCune Helen is survived by her daughter; Karen (Jack) Bartell of Marana; two grandchildren Gary (Cathette), and Valerie both of Marana; three great grandchildren, Kyle, Haley, and Lyndsey and several nieces and nephews; and her constant companion “Buffy”. A special thanks you goes to Home Instead and CASA de la Luz Hospice Care and all the special friends who provided care and support. Cremation has taken place and final resting place will be at Live Oak Cemetery in Monrovia, California. A Memorial Service ~ Celebration of Life will be 5:00 PM, Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Marana Mortuary & Cemetery in Marana, Arizona.
