SG Mission Art Show during Fiesta
San Gabriel Mission will offer free admission to artists and visitors to its Sixth Annual Art Show in its gardens on Saturday, Aug. 31, and Sunday, Sept. 1, as the 242-year-old mission celebrates its founding with its annual fiesta on Aug. 30-Sept. 1.
All artwork displayed must be about San Gabriel Mission or its Fiesta or any California Mission or plants or flowers or related to California history.
Visitors also will be able to go on a free self-guided tour of the mission church, museum and grounds and look at model missions donated to San Gabriel Mission to learn more about the history of missions in California.
Art Show space is limited. So, register early by calling 626-457-3048 (need name, city, phone number). Registration is free for artists and photographers and admission on Aug. 26-Sept. 1, 2013 is free so they can create their artwork. No chairs or tables will be available because of the fiesta. Persons age 17 and younger must be with their parent or adult guardian.
