Platters of foie gras, goblets of wine, and mountains of cheese, all served to you by your favorite celebrity chef, wearing nothing but an apron and puffy hat…We can dream. While that’s not quite what the 2013 LA Food & Wine Festival is, it is an opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with the city’s most illustrious chefs and the movers-and-shakers of the culinary world. This year, August 22nd through 25th, the city hosts an extravaganza of food panels, culinary demonstrations, and tasting events expected to draw over 20,000 attendees for an epicurean oasis.

If hedonistic visions of pigging out on expertly prepared bites and glugging wine has rendered you useless in thoughtfully organizing a schedule of events to attend, we’ve got your back. Below is a list of events on our wishlist to attend:

HINOKI & THE BIRD MIXOLOGY LUNCH:
We’re antsy with anticipation for what’s to come from the culinary and mixology geniuses at Hinoki & The Bird, whom we’ve featured on the blog before.

EATER PRESENTS: ASIAN NIGHT MARKET:
No-brainer. Asian food is the bomb and we’re not just saying this because the writer is Asian. Ahem.

BACON & BOURBON W/ CHEF ANDREW LEE:
Bacon. Bourbon. What more is there to say?

BEST OF BELGIUM: BEER AND BITES:
Make your love for beer infinitely more classy by pairing with “bites.” Something about the diminutive connotation makes us feel much more refined.

LEXUS GRAND TASTING
A grand tasting basically means, hell yeah, a smorgasboard of food and drink to try from 25 of the region’s best chefs and 200+ wines!

ZIGGY MARLEY  & BEN FORD COOKING DEMONSTRATION
We have no idea what we’re in for here, but the idea of Ziggy Marley pairing with Chef Ben Ford (of Ford’s Filling Station) for sustainable food is quite intriguing.

GRANT ACHATZ COCKTAIL DEMONSTRATION
This demonstration by Grant Achatz, a pioneer of molecular gastronomy, is not to be missed for food lovers with a bit of geek in ’em.

PAIRING CHEESE & WINE W/ THE FIRST LADY OF FROMAGE
Stinky cheese is the stuff of dreams, and Laura Werlin shows us how to effectively be a wino and cheese-lover all at once.

Which events will you be attending? Let us know in the comments!
